14 November 2012

Once more I don't have a chapter for today (real busy time for me right now, but is about to settle down) but will have one ready for tomorrow.

Thank you all for reading, and for your patience!

  1. Chris, I am still processing the excitement from the ~last Chapter~ I had to read it twice, Bud & Juniper are related, via eating maggots?

    Yummy!!!

    philip,

    I never met a maggot I didn't like....

PS: "The Maggots" was one of our "H" Model Huey's Platoons!!! Along with the RatPack, which received an official Letter from Dean Martin Sammy Davis & crew, to use the name Rat Pack... they were one of our Cobra Platoons.... There is nothing nicer to see at night, than a pair of Cobra's go lights off at 4500 altitude, continue the dive, and then punch out the Rockets, while the Miui-guns snake down their tracers.... it meant we was safe!

  2. Yep, all sorts of "maggots" out there...including your "Maggots," along with the Crusaders, Mungs and Blackhawks...

So when you see a Cobra now, does it still make you feel safe?
:) Einar would really rather not see one...

  3. Chris! you know the whole Family!!! I haven't seen a Cobra for ages... but the honest fact is, regardless if the VC did not have one, the sound of Blades chopping air sends shivers down my back... Its like I ~must~ know where its is, which quarter its coming from, going to... very not sane, but life.

BTW, our #1 Medic, Ed Artis, developed a Not for Profit, the ~Knights Brigade~, which would gather out of date medicines, and then a company that would 'lend' him a C130... And finally find a pilot who would fly it for no fee....

Then "Fly said Medicines"... to third country places and help the real folks.... My last known action of K B was flying a `USED OUT OF DATE` MRI machine, to TayNinh, and they poured the cement pad, did the set up & trained the Med Personal...

While there (remember 5-7 Klic's from Cambodia) the United Nations called his Sat Phone, and said "while you are in the area.... would you cross the border and Oversee (watch) the Cambodian elections"! He said.... 'yes' ... we have some good folks from "the Holy Land" the name of our Company Area, we Crusaders were like that, we were!

It's entirely sane, so far as I'm concerned. What's not sane is when people *don't* learn from their experiences in life. And yeah, I know what you mean about having to know where the thing's coming from, where it's going, only I have to find some trees in a big hurry, too, whenever I hear that rumble in the distance, or preferably some better cover such as rocks to dive beneath. Can be somewhat embarrassing, when out in public...
