16 December 2013

Folks, I intended to have a chapter ready for today, and must apologize for not doing that.

Things finally thawed a bit here after a couple weeks of below zero temperatures, and this resulted in a fair-sized rockslide coming down onto the road, so much of today was spent clearing that.

Thanks to all of you who are reading and participating in the discussion, and I appreciate your patience!

  1. Thank you for letting us know... I did not sleep well last night, so now, I can go to sleep early.

Just thinking about shoveling out a rock slide made me tired!!!!

  2. Please do not apologise, you certainly don't have to do that, I just appreciate being able to read this at all.

  3. Philip, hope you got some better sleep last night. Maybe it's the full moon making this not such a good time for sleeping. Sure has been bright here the last few nights with the moonlight on all this snow. I've been enjoying watching the elk feed on last year's grass in the meadow. It's a good alternative to sleeping...

The elk are pretty hungry with this cold weather. Some of them (herd of 31) have even been sleeping under the scrub oaks at the edge of the meadow, after they're done eating.

    Anon--thank you!
